Oily hair is a result of excessive sebum production by the scalp’s glands and can be caused by hormonal fluctuation due to very silky hair or may even be hereditary. Sometimes oily hair can occur if you don’t rinse your hair well after shampooing. If you have oily hair, here are some of the best natural remedies:
- Lemon juice
Lemon juice contains not only essential nutrients your hair needs, but can also help to lower oil from the scalp.
Squeeze a lemon and mix its juice with half a cup of water, mix well and apply it on the scalp.
Leave on for several minutes and rinse thoroughly. Lemon juice is also effective for degreasing your hair.
- Green Tea
Tea contains an astringent substance called tannic acid. This helps prevent excess oil.
Put a tea bag in a cup with hot water and wait to infuse. Apply the result on your scalp and leave it on for several minutes. Rinse with water and shampoo.
- Henna egg
Mix one egg with 3 tablespoons of henna in a container. Add 2 tablespoons honey and 1 olive oil and mix well with water content, until it becomes a paste. Apply the mask on hair and leave on for about 2 hours and make sure you rinse it well before applying shampoo.
Oil is a natural secretion of the scalp and plays an important role in maintaining your hair healthy, but sometimes it may appear greasy.
If you feel that you should wash your hair more often 2 times a week, it’s time to apply one of the remedies above.
